We have couple of Navy officers in our condo complex who are both doctors. One's a podiatrist and the other an emergency room physician. Opportunity to practice both in the Navy and Marine Corps. Perhaps better duty stations than other branches including San Diego, Hawaii, Nippon and Italy. Same for enlisted medical field.

For whatever branch, you have to be an RN to join as a nurse. Yet, all branches (maybe non Marines) have some medical jobs. For the Air Forcefulness, the recruiter won't exist able to guarantee it upward-front end, unless you already have some kind of medical credentials. I'm not sure well-nigh the other branches. Keep in listen that the enlisted jobs are low skill (think EMT equivalent, vitals, IVs, bed pans). You will not exist doing actual nursing or be a 'provider' unless you're a licensed RN or Doctor. The Air Force has the all-time educational completion rates of all the branches (more time to go to school maybe, not sure why), so keep that in mind if you want to eventually get a degree/license. It depends on your short and long term goals.

I have a family unit total of Navy corpsmen. Most became RNs after. One finished med school as a reservist and commissioned.
